MEET THE AUTHOR

From one fishkeeper
to another.

Hi, I'm Richard James. I've been keeping and breeding aquarium fish and shrimp since the early 1990s.

Over the years, I've worked in the aquarium trade, maintained aquariums and helped fellow fishkeepers through my writing and videos.

I wrote Guppies to help you enjoy the rewarding parts of the hobby—and feel better prepared for the questions that come with them. What should you feed? Is your aquarium ready? How do you care for a tank full of newborns?

Whether you’re choosing your first fish or planning your next breeding project, I want to help you spend less time wondering what to do and more time enjoying what’s happening in your tank.
